I think Tattersalls has to be the best event that we have competed at so far! Whilst it wasn’t the result for Solo that we were hoping for we both learnt a lot about each other and hopefully come out richer for it next time. Whilst Freddie travelled very well and settled into the fantastic falitiles at Tatts the atmosphere was just a bit too overwhelming for our beautiful gentle giant. It saw us do a very tense tight even though at the bottom of the dressage sheets the judges did want to give us the marks as they did think she was a lovely horse so very encouraging for next time out if we can loose the tension. Walking the cross country I was quietly confident that Freddie would be able to answer all of the very bold questions that were being asked. However I did not quite take into consideration the crowd at the first water in which he got rather star gazed by. He jumped through all the tough combinations such as off the bank four strides down the a skinny brush corner (pictured with the dogs) and through a tough last water making it feel like a pony club course . On to the last day saw him trot up well and then back up to the scary main arena. Whilst you wouldn’t have thought he had galloped round a tough XC course the day before as he was full of beans and jumping so big… a little too big possibly but he was trying very hard so with two unfortunate poles I wasn’t too disappointed for his first time at this level. Lets hope we can crack it next time!!
